General Questions

1. What is Your Cosmo Teacher?

Your Cosmo Teacher is an educational space created to help beauty students and professionals learn cosmetology, beauty theory, practical skills, exam prep, hair color, hair extensions, salon knowledge, and continuing education in a way that feels clear, supportive, and glam.

2. Who is Ms. Margaux?

Ms. Margaux is the educator behind Your Cosmo Teacher. She teaches at multiple schools, offers private lessons, creates beauty education resources, and specializes in hair extensions, hair color, theory, practical skills, State Board preparation, and helping students understand what they need for school and beyond.

3. Is this website only for cosmetology students?

No. This site is mainly for cosmetology students, but it can also support estheticians, nail technicians, beauty professionals, instructors, and anyone in the professional beauty education world. Some resources are student-only, and some information is available for general learning.

4. Do you have information for barbers?

Yes, barber education is coming soon through a separate site called Your Barber Teacher. Barbers and cosmetologists learn many similar topics, but barbers focus more on services such as clipper cutting, fading, shaving, beard work, razor work, and barbering techniques, while cosmetology may also include areas such as nails, skin, hair color, styling, and chemical services.

5. Can anyone use the information on this website?

Some information is open for visitors, but locked lessons, access-code pages, student resources, presentations, and protected materials are only for approved students or learners. If something is locked, that means it is not meant for public use.

School, Student & Beauty Supply Questions

6. I bought beauty supplies from you. Can I use them in school?

It depends on your school’s rules. Every school has different requirements about tools, products, supplies, kits, brands, and what students are allowed to use. Always check with your instructor or school before bringing outside supplies into class, clinic, practical work, or graded assignments.

7. Do you sell beauty supplies to current students that you are teaching?

If you are currently my student at a school where I am teaching, my general policy is that I do not sell beauty supplies to you while you are actively enrolled and currently under my instruction. Some schools do not allow instructors to sell directly to their current students, and I respect that. I also want to avoid any conflict of interest or confusion between school requirements and personal purchases.

8. Why do some current students have to wait until graduation to buy from you?

If I am currently teaching you at your school, and your school does not allow me to sell supplies to students, then you may need to wait until after graduation or until you are no longer my current student. This keeps everything professional, fair, and respectful of school policy. Once you graduate or are no longer under my instruction, you may be able to purchase from me like any other customer.

9. Will you sell beauty supplies to people who are not your current students?

Yes. If you are not currently my student, and I am not currently teaching you at your school, then I can sell professional beauty supplies to you as a regular customer. If you are a graduate, licensed professional, beauty industry worker, beauty school student somewhere else, or someone not connected to me as a current student, then that purchase is between you and me as the buyer and seller.

10. Can my school stop me from buying from you if I am not your current student?

If you are not currently my student and I am not currently teaching you, then your purchase from me is separate from any instructor/student relationship. However, your school may still have rules about what you can bring into class, use in school, or use during clinic services. Buying a product does not mean your school has to allow it inside the school.

11. Can I buy products or supplies before I start cosmetology school?

You can purchase supplies, but you should wait before assuming you can use them at school. Some schools require students to use the official kit or approved products only. If your school has specific rules, you may have to wait until after school approval, graduation, or until your instructor approves outside items.

12. How do I know what my school requires?

Ask your instructor, admissions department, student handbook, program director, or school director. Your Cosmo Teacher can give general guidance, but your school has the final say on what is accepted for your program, assignments, practical work, dress code, kit, clinic floor, and services.

13. Can you tell me what products I need for class?

I can help explain common beauty school tools and products, but the exact list depends on your school, your program, your state requirements, and your instructor. If you are unsure, bring your school supply list, syllabus, or kit list when asking for help.

14. Do you sell professional beauty supplies?

Yes, selected professional beauty supplies may be available for graduates, licensed professionals, approved buyers, beauty professionals, and customers who are not current students under my instruction. Please remember that buying supplies does not automatically mean your school will allow those supplies to be used in class, on the clinic floor, or for graded assignments.

15. If my school does not allow outside supplies, what should I do?

Respect your school’s policy. You may still be able to use your purchased items for practice at home, after graduation, for personal study, or once you are licensed, depending on the item and your state laws. When in doubt, ask your instructor or school first.

Classes, Private Lessons & Learning With Me

16. Do you offer private classes?

Yes. Private lessons may be available for students, graduates, licensed professionals, or learners who need extra help. Topics may include theory, practical skills, hair extensions, hair color, State Board preparation, and confidence-building for school or salon work.

17. Where can I find your class pricing?

You can find class details and pricing on the Learn With Me page. That page explains how to learn with Ms. Margaux and what options may be available.

18. Do you charge for lessons?

If I am teaching a school-approved project inside the school as part of your program, that may be handled through the school. If you are booking me privately outside of school, then yes, private lessons, specialty training, tutoring, and custom education services are paid services.

19. What do you specialize in?

My specialty areas include hair extensions, hair color, rainbow color projects, cosmetology theory, practical beauty education, school support, State Board preparation, and helping students understand beauty industry expectations.

20. Do you teach rainbow hair color projects?

Yes. Rainbow and creative color projects are one of my specialty areas. If the project is being done inside a school, students must follow school rules, product rules, safety rules, and instructor approval. If the training is outside of school, it may be booked as a private or specialty class.

21. Can you help me if I am struggling in cosmetology school?

Yes. Many students need extra help with theory, terminology, procedures, practical steps, client consultation, State Board topics, or confidence. You can visit the Learn With Me page to see how to book extra support.

22. Can you help me study for State Board?

Yes. State Board preparation is one of the main reasons students and former students use this site. Some State Board resources may be locked and only available to approved current or former students.

23. Can I book you for help with hair extensions?

Yes. Hair extensions are one of my specialty areas. Depending on your level, training may include product knowledge, consultation, installation basics, maintenance, removal, blending, sectioning, pricing, client care, and professional expectations.

24. Can I book you for help with hair color?

Yes. Hair color education may include color theory, formulation concepts, consultation, lightening, creative color, correction conversations, safety, client expectations, and understanding how to work professionally. Advanced color work should always respect licensing rules, school rules, and proper supervision when needed.

25. Do you offer continuing education or professional classes?

Yes. Continuing education and professional beauty classes may be offered based on availability. Topics may include hair color, hair extensions, salon readiness, business basics, beauty theory, teaching support, and professional development.

26. Do you offer discounts on classes?

Discounts may be offered from time to time. One way to learn about discounts is to follow me on LinkedIn and leave a comment or engage with my professional posts. Discounts are not guaranteed, but social media followers may receive updates, special offers, or class announcements.

27. Do you teach at more than one school?

Yes. Ms. Margaux teaches at multiple schools and works with different students in different learning environments. Because every school may have different rules, students should always follow the requirements of their own program.

Website Access & Locked Content

28. Why are some pages locked?

Locked pages are for current students, former students, or approved learners. If a page asks for an access code, that means the content is not public and is meant for a specific class, lesson, review, or student group.

29. How do I get an access code?

Access codes are provided only when you are approved to view that material. If you are a current student, former student preparing for State Board, or booked learner, you may receive access when it applies to your lesson or class.

30. Can I share my access code with someone else?

No. Access codes are not meant to be shared. If someone needs access, they should contact Your Cosmo Teacher directly or be enrolled, approved, or connected to the lesson in the correct way.

31. Why are your materials watermarked?

My materials are watermarked because they are original educational resources created for my students and approved learners. The watermark helps protect the work from being copied, stolen, reposted, resold, taught from, or used by others without permission.

32. Can students share locked lessons or access codes?

No. Access codes, locked lessons, private class materials, paid resources, and student-only content are for approved users only. Sharing access without permission is not allowed and may result in loss of access or other action.

37. Can teachers or other professionals use your handouts?

Public materials may be used for instructional purposes with proper credit when they are posted on my public social media or YouTube pages. However, private handouts, worksheets, lessons, visuals, study materials, presentations, downloads, locked content, paid resources, and student-only materials may not be copied, edited, passed out, taught from, resold, reposted, or used by another instructor, school, brand, or business without permission.

38. Can I print, screenshot, or repost your materials?

Public social media posts may be shared in the way the platform allows, with credit. These resources are created for learning, not for unauthorized sharing.

39. Can someone copy, repost, sell, or teach from your materials without permission?

No. Unauthorized copying, reposting, selling, distributing, uploading, teaching from, or claiming ownership of my protected materials is not allowed. Public social media content may be shared or used for educational purposes with credit, but private, paid, locked, or protected materials require permission first.

40. What happens if someone uses your materials without permission?

Unauthorized use of my materials may result in removal requests, loss of access to resources, denied access to future classes, and possible legal action. Depending on the situation, misuse, unauthorized distribution, theft, resale, or infringement of protected materials may also result in civil action and/or criminal prosecution where applicable by law.

41. How can someone request permission to use your materials?

If you would like to use my materials for a class, training, presentation, workshop, online lesson, or school resource, please contact me first.
